We are selling a fully restored Morgan Plus Four Prototype. The vehicle is located in Wellington, New Zealand, however we can ship the car world wide.

The bumper on the car at the moment is not origional and just a temporary fixture as the origional is yet to be delivered.

The following is a letter from the Morgan Motor Company detailing the history of the car.

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter recently received requesting information with regard to a car Chassis No.P.2038. P2038 was the first ever car made as a Plus 4 ca in those early days in 1950, it was a Works car and was driven by Mr.P.H.G.Morgan, and was classed as his own car. In those early days only two of the original Plus 4’s were ever made, P2038 was a Coupe and P2100 with Vanguard engine V24ME was a two-seater which was also a Works car and was driven by the Works Manager. Mr. W.A.G. Goodall. Both these cars had stand –up Chrome Plated radiators.

When the Works decided to sell P.2038 it was completely reconditioned at the Works, and a modern type front with headlamps in the wings and a modern cowl and frille were fitted, it was then sold to a gentleman who did a lot of Rallying for the Works Mr.T.Hall of Bromsgrove, he in turn we would think must have disposed of it to the person you mention Mr. Bishop of Worcester.

What is rather surprising is that the engine in it the Vanguard V24ME, was fitted into the two-seater. This particular car was continually being brought up to production standard, and we feel the the engine from the two-seater may well have been fitted to Chassis No.P.2038 before being sold. Both these cars were painted Kingfisher Blue with Black upholstery.

We have found ou that when the car Chassis No.2038 was uder the ownership of Mr. T.Hall, he unfortunately had an accident with this particular car which was written off by the Insurance Company, Mr.Bishop then purchased this car from the Insurance Company with a view to having it rebuilt as a Coupe, which at the time was almost an impossiblility as production work was needed so much. What Mr. Morgan did agree to, and which was carried out, only because it was his own particular car, was that a new two-seater body could be built and fitted and also panelled here at the Works. So you will see from our comments that this particular car has quite an amount of history to it. We hope this information we have given will satisfy your requirements.

Please find enclosed our Pro Forma Invoice for one bonnet hinge and piece and a radiator cap long reach. A soon as we receive your remittance these parts could be despatched to you without delay.

Yours faithfully,
